Support Cohen Redman’s Journey to Chile

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As many of you know, kayaking and rafting have been an integral part of my life. As an enrolled member of The Klamath Tribes, I have been given a unique opportunity to join Paddle Tribal Waters (PTW), a program focused on whitewater kayaking, Native leadership, and environmental advocacy. This program offers youth leadership and competency-building opportunities in kayaking, as well as a platform for advocacy.

Now, as an adult, I am honored to have been selected to travel to Chile as a PTW Junior Counselor/Media Intern with the Kayakimün Program. This is a two-week program on the Biobío River in Chile, where I will:

• Capture photos of Kayakimün’s activities.

• Support the day-to-day operations of the program.

• Provide training in whitewater kayaking, river stewardship, and advocacy for Mapuche-Pehuenche youth.

• Grow my kayaking skills by shadowing instructors and supporting lessons.

• Participate in a Spanish immersion experience to improve my language skills.

• Deepen my understanding of Indigenous-led paddle clubs and Mapuche-Pehuenche culture.

• Support camp tasks, assist instructors with gear management, and help prepare meals.

PTW will cover my food, lodging, and ground transportation in Chile. However, I still need assistance with the cost of my plane ticket and other additional expenses.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me to grow both personally and professionally, and I would be incredibly grateful for your support.
