May 15, 2025 will be a day we will never forget. On that day, our son, Coen, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a fast-growing blood and bone marrow cancer.
It started two weeks ago with a swollen lymph node, they ran labs, and then rechecked a week later. The results revealed the worst case scenario and Coen was immediately admitted to perform more tests and to create a treatment plan. We have been at the children’s hospital ever since - with a scared boy.
Coen is 10 years old and goes to Legacy Traditional School and will be starting the 5th grade in the fall. Due to the intensity of his treatment, instead of starting 5th grade with his friends, he will start the school year in a hospital room. He will undergo treatment at the hospital one month at a time, with two weeks home in between for the next five months.
Coen’s big and only passion is soccer! He plays the goalie position and was just successful at tryouts to be placed on Navy, the number one team in his division! He is SO proud of himself, but unfortunately he will now be unable to play with his team this season.
At this time, we are asking for support to help with medical bills and other expenses for Coen and his family, who have a long road ahead with surgeries, chemotherapy, and hospital stays. We appreciate anything that you can contribute to help ease the financial burden that we will experience.
We are also asking for prayers, thoughts, and donations to get us through this difficult time. All money will go directly to Coen’s parents to pay associated expenses.
We will update this page as we learn more.
