Support Cody’s Stomatitis Surgery

Hi there - My name is Liz and my fiance and I live in Chicago with our 8 y/o Persian cat, Cody, who has gained friends and followers via TikTok over the last few years

This month, Cody was struggling to eat, crying from tooth pain. After a few days of refusing food & water, we took him to our vet.

We put him under for a dental cleaning, we thought that would solve our issues. But, a few days following the cleaning, he was back to refusing food & water.

After seeing a veterinary specialist, Cody has been diagnosed with Stomatitis - an autoimmune condition that causes the body to reject its teeth via painful inflammation. The only treatment (which has proven to be successful) is a full mouth extraction, essentially removing all teeth so that there’s no more painful immune response.

Our Cody needs to get this procedure done, but it’s an unexpected and expensive. It’s not covered by insurance due to it being a preexisting condition.

The good news is that cats & dogs can live a healthy, long life without any teeth, which is why we’ve made the decision to move forward with the surgery.

A few friends of ours recommended we set up a Go Fund Me to help with the over $5,000 we’ll be spending in vet bills.
