Hello everyone out there!!! My name is Cody Perkins (aka Algorythm.Code). I am an interdisciplinary artist from the North San Fernando Valley, Sylmar to be exact, and I’ve been accepted into the MFA program in Art and Technology at CalArts.

This moment is a dream come true, built on years of hard work as a composer, producer, and interdisciplinary artist from Sylmar, California. If you know, you know! My work centers Black nostalgic experiences and narratives, futurism, healing, and the power of experimental sound. It’s been featured at Sundance, Outfest, Vogue, Art Basel, and more—and this next chapter at CalArts is essential to continuing that vision on a higher level, in which I receive my PhD in Media Arts + Practice.

I’ve received $50,000 in financial aid, but I’m still $10,000 short of covering tuition. In order to secure my spot, I need $400 immediately, to secure my spot as an incoming master's student and accept my financial aid and scholarships by the 14th of April, 2025. And to truly bring my vision to life, I need an additional remaining balance to support survival (housing, food, transportation) and execute my thesis: an interdisciplinary film-opera rooted in memory, identity, speculative Black futures, and time travel with the use of archival found sound and original composed sonic collages.

My total fundraising goal is $22,000.
