Cody was diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder in 2019. The disorder attacked his kidneys causing him to go into kidney failure. In 2022 he began dialysis. In January 2023 he received a kidney transplant. The transplant went extremely well and Cody was thriving! After a kidney transplant, he was placed on multiple medications to keep his body from rejecting the transplanted kidney. This caused him to be extremely immunocompromised. In early 2024, through no fault of his own, he was exposed to an illness that made him very sick for several weeks. The illness caused him to not be able to digest his anti-rejection medication and thus started the journey of organ rejection.

Cody has been back on dialysis since January 2025. Since then, he has developed multiple other medical conditions. He is currently going through testing to try to diagnose and treat these conditions.

God has never failed our family. He has continued to show up in a big way through this entire journey, and we know He is going to take care of us as we embark on this next part of our journey.
