Support Cody Jackson In His Journey With Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Community,
We are writing to seek your support for our dear friend, Cody Jackson. Cody is a mental health therapist who has dedicated his life to helping others. He is a talented working musician, a passionate mindfulness practitioner, a long time Boulder resident and Naropa University graduate. Cody has dedicated much of his adult life to compassionately supporting his clients, building deeply connected and caring community within Boulder, including his work as the primary mental health resource at the Boulder Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, and his work at Boulder Prep High School.
In November of 2024 Cody began having some odd symptoms, struggling to type or play piano with his left hand. In early March 2025, he started having debilitating headaches. Cody went to the ER, was given a scan, and discovered that he had massive tumors in his brain, which have since been diagnosed as glioblastoma, the most aggressive form of brain cancer. On March 21, he underwent emergency “maximal extraction” surgery to remove the portion of the tumors that could be safely removed. After recovering in the hospital, he was allowed to return home, but was quickly re-hospitalized due to sudden brain swelling and seizures. During this most recent hospital stay, he learned that the tumors are already growing back.
Cody is currently at home and will soon start 6 weeks of concurrent radiation and chemotherapy, followed by 6 more months of ongoing chemotherapy. The tumors, brain swelling, and trauma from surgery have left him with limited use of his left hand, and some (what we hope to be temporary) cognitive impairments. He will not be able to work for some time. As a private practice psychotherapist, Cody does not have paid medical leave and is without ongoing income during this critical time.
Over the past few weeks, Cody has been deeply moved by the outpouring of love and care from his friends, family, and community. Your support has meant the world to him, and now, he needs us more than ever. Even with private health insurance, the cost of this ongoing treatment is untenable, the out-of-pocket medical bills are already piling up. We are asking for help to ease this load so that Cody can focus on his recovery and well-being, and work to return to living a full and meaningful life of work, play, and community.
Your contributions will go directly toward the costs of Cody’s medical care, treatments, and living expenses while he is unable to work. Together, our donations will make an enormous difference, helping to provide him with the resources he needs to focus on his health and recovery. Every amount, big or small, will have a profound impact during this challenging time.
Cody is a gifted healer, a loving friend, a dedicated musician, and he has given so much of himself to others throughout his life. Now, it's our turn to give back and support him in his journey. Please consider donating and then sharing this campaign with others who may be able to help.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and unwavering support. Let’s come together to help Cody get through this difficult time and show him just how much he means to us all.
With Gratitude,
Alicia, Huan and the Community of Cody's Friends and Family
