Support Coda and his animal shelter on Madeira

Hello there!
My name is Marian, 29 and am working on Madeira until end of September 2021. While living in an apartment close to Madeiras biggest town, Funchal, I heard intense dog barking everyday. I talked to my neighbors and learned, that there's a dog shelter near by. I decided to go visit the animals and that's where the story started...

Most of the shelter's animals were stray dogs and cats with some of them being abandoned by their original owners. I quickly realized, that the situation for all of them and for the supporting stuff is very hard. They urgently try to get help wether financially or physically and find new homes. The costs for feeding, electricity, personnel, insurance, castration and vaccination need to be covered, even though there is an animal clinic close by. I see the staff being very committed to their work and yet they cannot change much about the sad situation of the animals: being alone.

Soon, I applied as a volunteer to help out and walk the dogs every now and then. One day I met a young dog, black in it's colours whith brown and reddish eyes, which I fell in love with. I started taking him more often and spending time with him. Since then I decided to try and plan to adopt him. I named him Coda and yes, the decision I made is emotionally. Nevertheless, I would like to help the shelter financially and have therefore started this campaign. My aim is to reach a 800€ goal and do an official donation with naming all participants (if you choose to - anonymity is respected ). I will update and inform the participants as fast as possible.

Note: in case the campaign goes well and there is money exceeding the goal of 800€, the costs for vaccination, castrtion and transport (Madeira - Germany) for Coda are covered too! You will be informed about the details.

I am very grateful for every donation and I will keep you updated! Let's try to provide some help, make abandoned animals happier and support the personnel in their amazing work.

O meu nome é Marian, 29 anos e estou a trabalhar na Madeira até ao final de Setembro de 2021. Enquanto vivia num apartamento perto da maior cidade da Madeiras, Funchal, ouvi latidos intensos de cão todos os dias. Falei com os meus vizinhos e aprendi, que há um abrigo para cães nas proximidades. Decidi ir visitar os animais e foi aí que a história começou.

A maioria dos animais do abrigo eram cães e gatos vadios, sendo alguns deles abandonados pelos seus donos originais. Percebi rapidamente, que a situação para todos eles e para as coisas de apoio é muito difícil. Eles tentam urgentemente obter ajuda quer financeira ou física e encontrar novos lares. Os custos de alimentação, electricidade, pessoal, seguros, castração e vacinação precisam de ser cobertos, apesar de haver uma clínica de animais por perto. Vejo o pessoal muito empenhado no seu trabalho e, no entanto, não podem mudar muito sobre a triste situação dos animais: estarem sozinhos.

Em breve, candidatei-me como voluntário para ajudar e passear os cães de vez em quando. Um dia conheci um jovem cão, de cor preta com olhos castanhos e avermelhados, pelo qual me apaixonei. Comecei a levá-lo mais vezes e a passar tempo com ele. Desde então, decidi tentar e planear adoptá-lo. Dei-lhe o nome de Coda e sim, a decisão que tomei foi emocionalmente. No entanto, gostaria de ajudar financeiramente o abrigo e, por isso, comecei esta campanha. O meu objectivo é atingir um objectivo de 800 euros e fazer uma doação oficial com o nome de todos os participantes (se o desejar - o anonimato é respeitado ). Irei actualizar e informar os participantes o mais rapidamente possível.

Nota: no caso da campanha correr bem e houver dinheiro que exceda o objectivo de 800 euros, os custos de vacinação, castrção e transporte (Madeira - Alemanha) para a Coda também estão cobertos! Será informado sobre os detalhes.

Hallo zusammen!
Ich heiße Marian, 29 und arbeite bis Ende September 2021 auf Madeira. Nahe meiner Wohnung in Madeiras größter Stadt, Funchal, hörte ich täglich lautes und aufgeregtes Hundegebell. Ich sprach mit meinen Nachbarn und man erzählte mir, dass es in der Nähe ein Tierheim gibt. Ich beschloss, mich dort einmal umzusehen und damit begann die Geschichte...

Die meisten Tiere des Tierheims sind streunende Hunde und Katzen, einige von ihnen wurden von ihren ursprünglichen Besitzern ausgesetzt oder vernachlässigt. Mir wurde schnell klar, dass die Situation für sie alle und für die Miterbeitenden sehr hart ist. Sie versuchen dringend, Hilfe zu bekommen, sei es finanziell oder durch tatkräftige Unterstützung. Die Kosten für Strom, Personal, Versicherung, Kastration, Impfung und Futter müssen gedeckt werden. Durch eine angegliederte Tierklinik ist für die körperliche Gesundheit der Tiere gesorgt. Ich sehe, dass die Mitarbeiter sehr engagiert bei der Sache sind und doch können sie an der traurigen Situation der Tiere nicht viel ändern: Sie sind allein.

Nach meinem Besuch bewarb ich mich als Freiwilliger und fing an, mich mit einigen Hunden zu beschäftigen. Eines Tages traf ich einen jungen Hund, schwarz mit braun-roten Augen, in den ich mich sofort verliebt habe. Ich begann, ihn öfter mitzunehmen und Zeit mit ihm zu verbringen. Es vergingen einige Wochen, in denen ich mich entschied, ihn zu adoptieren. Ich habe ihn Coda genannt und ja, meine Entscheidung war rein emotional. Trotzdem möchte ich dem Tierheim noch finanziell helfen und habe deshalb diese Kampagne gestartet. Mein Ziel ist es, 800€ zu sammeln und eine offizielle Spende mit Namensnennung aller Teilnehmer zu machen (Anonymität auf Wunsch natürlich respektiert). Ich werde die Teilnehmer so schnell wie möglich  informieren.

Extra: falls die Kampagne gut läuft und das Ziel von 800€ überschritten wird, werden auch die Kosten der Impfung, Kastration und Transport (Madeira - Deutschland) für Coda übernommen! Sobald es soweit ist, werde ich darüber informieren.

Ich bin für jede Spende sehr dankbar und werde alle Teilnehmenden auf dem Laufenden halten! Lasst uns versuchen gemeinsam zu helfen, ausgesetzte Tiere glücklicher zu machen und die Mitarbeiter bei ihrer tollen Arbeit zu unterstützen.
