Coco’s Transition Recovery

I’ve spent a long time reflecting on if I should lean on my community during what has been a tumultuous transition, hoping I wouldn’t need to as I worked diligently to maximize the benefits I get from my insurance and employer. Despite my best efforts, I’ve accrued over $10,000 in medical debt from transition-related expenses. I was hoping to get an $8,000 reimbursement from my insurance for this debt, but the provider I was working with (who claimed they were trans-friendly) is refusing to sign paperwork that would allow my insurance company to reimburse me. I’ve been feeling increasingly hopeless, now that I’m personally responsible for this hefty chunk of medical debt. So, I’ve humbly come here asking my loved ones for some assistance in relieving what feels like an insurmountable blow. Halving this five-figure debt would provide me with tremendous mental relief as I continue pushing onward in my transition. Can’t wait to show y’all my FFS results very soon!
