Hi! Most of you know me and my beloved sidekick Coal, a chihuahua mix rescue pup, who is turning 15 this November. To know Coal is to love Coal. He is the sweetest boy, who has been by my side through and through. This last year, he has had many health complications due to his heart condition which was diagnosed at a young age, but has progressed. He now has to take a regiment of medications daily, have regular blood work and echocardiograms, follow up visits, chest x-rays, and has been to the emergency vet and even hospitalized in an oxygen chamber overnight due to his congestive heart failure. It is all very expensive. Recently, he has been having seizures and syncope because his little heart is so weak. It is the scariest and saddest thing to hold my pup while he goes through this. He can not undergo any surgery or procedures with anesthesia due to how weak his little heart is, which limits what we can do for him. It is medication management at this time. The bills are piling up...and I am just a single girl trying to keep up with the ever increasing costs of living, homeownership, and now this which has put me over the edge. His medications alone are over $100/month, on top of everything else. I work a full time job plus multiple part time jobs and it still is not enough.

This morning my vet told me that little Coal has the heart of a soldier.

If he is a soldier, than I am too and I need to go to bat for my little best friend and fight for him and I.
