This has been set up on behalf of Coach Kegan Trotman, or as his players affectionately call him, 'Trot'. On November 13, 2025, during school hours, an altercation occurred between a student and a different teacher. When Coach Trotman stepped in to defuse the situation, the student turned his hostility towards him and physically attacked him. Coach responded in self-defense by grasping for the student’s sweater/coat. By this time, other people became involved by grabbing the student from behind to get him off of Coach Trotman and put the student on the ground. In a reasonable world, the student would have been arrested and Coach would have been thanked, but Osceola County School District has a no-teacher/student contact policy, even in situations of self-defense. Based on the fact that Coach Trotman took hold of the student’s sweater, he was arrested and terminated from his job at Celebration High School.

Coach Trotman has been the beloved D-Line Varsity Football Coach at Celebration High School for the last two years, Coach of the Celebration Flag Football Team for 2 years, and honorably served as Coach of Celebration Youth Football Championship Team for the last 6 years. As you can imagine, all of the players he mentored and guided through the years are absolutely heartbroken at the injustice that has occurred in this situation. For many of them, he is the closest example of a father figure they have. After all the time, effort, support, and care Coach Trotman has put into our children (with no compensation), the least we can do is help him with the mounting legal fees he is accruing.
