Dear AYSO/Epic Families, Friends, and Community,
I’m Steve Mercer, assistant coach of the AYSO/Epic "Fireballs" soccer team for athletes with disabilities, and I’m reaching out with a heartfelt request for help. Our beloved head coach, Tony D'Angelo, recently lost his home in Altadena to the devastating Eaton fire. Tragically, along with his home, all the soccer equipment essential for our team was also destroyed. Tony has been a guiding light for these young athletes, dedicating countless hours to ensure every player feels included, empowered, and celebrated on the field. As we work to support Tony during this difficult time, we’re asking for donations to help replace the lost equipment and to assist Tony and his family rise from the ashes. Typical of Tony's selflessness, when I asked him for permission to post this request, his first thought was not for the loss of his home or belongings, but for the needs of his team. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference for both Tony and our incredible athletes. Thank you for standing with us in support of an extraordinary coach.
With gratitude,
Steve Mercer
