Coach and Mr. Julio Pardo has dedicated his life to helping students like me see a world beyond our neighborhood. As my former basketball coach and a mentor to many, he has always gone above and beyond to support underprivileged kids in the East Side school district of San Jose, CA. In fact, Mr. Julio Pardo has been making a difference for over 30 years—even when I was young, he was already creating opportunities for students like me to dream bigger.

For more than three decades, Mr. Julio Pardo has organized field trips for small groups of students at Andrew Hill High School to visit colleges and places they never imagined seeing. These trips are more than just outings—they are a chance for students to realize that their dreams can extend far beyond what they see every day. Many of these students come from families who cannot afford to travel or explore new places, and with recent cuts to school funding, it has become even harder to make these trips happen. Mr. Julio Pardo and his colleagues work tirelessly to secure funds, but this year, they need extra help to continue this important tradition.
