Hello, my name is Mike. As a coach for multiple team sports for both of my boys (9 and 13), I know how the stresses of managing multiple players, creating fun and meaningful practice plans, organizing games and tournaments, and keeping up with personal and family responsibilities outside of sports can be a very demanding and sometimes thankless role. My oldest son's coach, Martin, works tirelessly every week to ensure these very things for his players and family. Coaching two teams simultaneously, raising two children himself, and working a full-time job is no small feat. Sadly, this last season, Coach Martin was also tasked with returning home for several weeks to care for his unwell mother. In doing so, he had to empty his savings as well as take time from his job to pay her bills and care for her. Though met with this financial hardship and an unfortunate turn of events, Coach Martin returned and continued working his job and doing what he loves...coaching youth competitive soccer with a smile on his face. It was not until mid-season that I learned that not only did he need to exhaust all of his financial resources to help cover medical expenses, he had also sold his car to do so. Though he did not have a vehicle, he continued to timely attend practices and games by riding his bicycle...sometimes 2-3 hours in each direction to ensure he upheld his commitment to multiple young men who look up to him.

I am hoping to raise funds with the help of those that love the beautiful game to help Martin buy a decent and reliable vehicle to relieve some of the everyday travel burdens in his life and commitments he has selflessly made. Thank you for your consideration.
