Hello everyone,
This is Kurt/Coach's son Colton/Earl. By now, you are probably aware of the situation. My dad was hit on his motorcycle Friday (Halloween) night coming home on the Pineda causeway. I don't know many details of the incident (still waiting on information from law enforcement) but I do know that it was NOT a hit and run. Coach has lots of broken ribs and fractured tibia/fibula that they had to operate on Saturday 11/1. Luckily he had his helmet on so at the moment there are no abnormalities showing up on the CT scans of his head. He's having trouble breathing, he's been on and off of oxygen and he has chest tubes. His mental state was a lot better the first two days, since then he has become restless, and agitated. The nurses believe he has ICU delirium, which makes sense because he's not one to even sit still at home so I'm sure he feels trapped in the hospital bed. I'll try to keep this short and sweet. Coach is going to kill me for creating this (he hates help and I think I get that from him) but many of you have reached out asking if there was anywhere to donate so I just wanted to create this as a place to do so. I don't expect anything from anybody and neither will Coach. Your love, support and prayers are truly all that we could ever ask for and I thank you all so much for being by his side and continuing to uplift my dad through this nightmare. Coach still has a long time left in the hospital unfortunately and he's going to rack up quite the hospital bill. He's going to need to go to a rehab facility for his leg after his 2nd surgery and when he's finally able to go home he's probably going to need an at home nurse. That being said, I have no clue what to put as the goal, I don't know how much this will end up costing him. Gofundme recommended $16,000 so that's what I chose, I also enabled the automated goal setting so the goal will start at $2,000 and continue to grow from there if the goal is met. Again, I don't expect anything from anyone. I do have one tiny ask, please just share this. Hell, maybe Jeff Bezos will stumble upon the link (kidding). I just want Coach to be okay and heal up so he can go back to spreading his love and positivity to all of us. Thank you all so very much!!
Much love,
Colton Earl
