My name is Darryl, and for over 30 years, I’ve been a gymnastics coach and fitness trainer in the Detroit/Rochester, Michigan area. Coaching has been my life’s passion — especially working with kids in my Ninja Program, where I had the privilege of helping young students build confidence, discipline, and tumbling skills they never thought they could achieve.
Compliments like this make it all worth it…
"Coach Darryl pushed my son to reach goals we never thought possible — he’s now a top performer because he never gave up on him!”
Sharing this next part is painful, but I need to let you know where life has taken me…
When Life Put Me to the Test
Six years ago, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. The medications I take only manage symptoms — they don’t cure it — and the side effects can be just as debilitating.
Over time, the disease has progressed, bringing:
- Tremors, fatigue, and brain fog
- Frequent falls and painful “brain freezes”
- Depression, anxiety, paranoia, and speech difficulties
- Difficulty sleeping and loss of independence
On top of that, I had surgery in May to remove a mass from my back. Instead of bringing relief, it added even more pain and sped up my Parkinson’s progression.
Because of all this, I’ve been unable to work for over a year. My only income is disability, which barely covers essentials. Worst of all, I had to stop doing what I loved — and I miss the students whose lives I was so proud to impact.
A New Hope
Recently, I discovered a holistic treatment that has shown remarkable results for people with Parkinson’s. Some have experienced dramatic improvements, and others have even reversed their symptoms.
Unfortunately, insurance will not cover this treatment. The initial cost is $7,000+, and additional funds are needed for follow-up sessions, supplements, travel, rent, food, and basic living expenses.
My goal is to raise $11,000 so I can begin treatment within the next month. With your help, I have a chance not only to regain my health and independence, but also to return to doing what I love most — coaching kids in our community.
How You Can Help
Every donation, no matter the size, brings me closer to starting treatment and gives me hope for the future. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and community would mean the world to me.
Your support isn’t just helping me — it’s helping the countless kids who will once again have a place to learn, grow, and believe in themselves.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness and generosity.
Any support is appreciated and would mean the world to me.
