Hi everyone, my name is Jennifer Bryant. To my children, Chuck has never just been a soccer coach, he’s family.

Many of you know Coach Chuck from the YMCA. For over 15 years, Chuck has poured his heart into coaching and mentoring kids in our community. He’s always been the one encouraging others, showing up with a smile, and helping wherever he could.

Now, Chuck needs us.

On March 26th, Chuck called me believing he may have suffered a stroke, and I took him to the hospital. At the time, doctors believed his symptoms may have been related to crushed discs in his neck. In the weeks that followed, Chuck underwent multiple doctor visits, MRIs, X-rays, and additional testing as his condition continued to worsen.

Chuck was later transferred to St. Francis Hospital to be closer to family and continue further testing and care. Since then, doctors have confirmed that Chuck did suffer a stroke and also discovered a lesion on his brain. They are still awaiting additional lumbar puncture/spinal fluid test results. While some results looked reassuring, doctors have explained that inflammation has not been ruled out.

Right now, Chuck requires around-the-clock care from his mother and family members. He is currently wheelchair-bound and needs assistance with daily tasks including eating, mobility, and personal care. He has also suffered two falls since being in the wheelchair, though thankfully no additional injuries occurred.

As you can imagine, this has been physically, emotionally, and financially overwhelming for Chuck and his family. Because of his condition, Chuck is unable to work or continue coaching the kids he loves so much.

We are asking our community to come together for someone who has spent years giving so much to others. Any donation, prayer, share, or message of encouragement means more than words can express.

Let’s help Coach Chuck focus on healing and recovery without the added burden of financial stress.
