Support Coach Beyle to fight Cancer

Donation protected
Hi All,

I'm starting this GoFundMe for Coach Beyle to help in his fight to battle cancer.  We all know that insurance will not cover all the costs and there will be bills to pay post-surgery and for aftercare.  I've received this lovely note from his daughter to give more details on Jon and his impact in the local community.  I hope you'll join me in giving support to him, in whatever way you can.

My name is Taylor Beyle. I am the proud daughter of Jon and Beth Anne Beyle.  I am writing on behalf of my father and family, humbly asking for your assistance.  I grew up watching my father in many roles--teacher, coach, physical trainer, mentor, and friend.  To each of these, he brought unwavering kindness, support, and patience.  But I admire him most for being a husband to my mother and a father to me and my siblings (Jordan and Jon Ward).  His passion and dedication to our family is unlike anyone else. He loves with his whole self and has never gone a day without expressing his love and deep appreciation for us.  As a teacher, coach, and physical trainer--which is how the majority of you know him--he has changed numerous lives and given countless hours of his time to being a positive role model for younger generations.  He innately provides steady guidance and reassurance to those who encounter him.  To observe people approach my father with admiration and gratitude is one of the most beautiful sights as he is such an esteemed member of our community and has touched many lives simply by being himself.  My dad would also be quick to note that as much as he impacts others, so does my loving, gentle mother who is a nurturer to all and our family’s current situation affects her as much as it does my father.

In the fall of 2019, my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer.  He decided with his doctor at UNC to pursue surgery.  His operation is scheduled for May.  My father is not inclined to reach out and ask for financial help.  He would move forward with life as that has always been his approach.  However, the idea of a GoFundMe was presented to him by a parent of one of my father’s East Chapel Hill High School Track & Field athletes and my dad was profoundly moved by it . Others giving back to him when he has spent his life working hard to give to others is beyond kind.  This surgery will not bankrupt nor darken my parents’ spirits, but it is no secret that a schoolteacher’s salary is not an abundant one and this operation will be expensive.  I speak for my siblings and myself when I say that if we could give them every dollar and cent they need, we would in a heartbeat.

To alleviate even a margin of the burden of paying for a costly surgery would be one less worry for my parents.  As stated before, my father is not inclined to request this type of support, but I cannot think of anyone more worthy of such an offering.  He deserves to focus on his recuperation and treasured family time rather than stressing over financial repercussions.  My family is respectfully asking for donations. We would be immensely grateful and humbled by any contribution you can make.  We would be even more honored to also read stories of your time with my father and how he has impacted or helped you.  Whether you know him as Coach Beyle, Mr. Beyle, Jon, JB, or any other way, please share some warm thoughts and encouragement for my favorite person (tied with my mama, of course)!
