Macie, Alyssa, and the rest of the River House staff are hoping to raise money for Clorise Bowlin, our building porter here at the River House Apartments. She is a wonderful, hard-working woman from Jamaica who has close family impacted by the recent Hurricane Melissa that struck the island this week. Her son's house was completely washed away, her elderly aunt passed of a heart attack due to the stress of the natural disaster, and she has been unsuccessfully trying to contact her 97-year-old father, her other children, and grandchildren that live on the island.
Clorise loves her family so much and has been deeply affected by her losses, yet she has still come to work every day with a positive attitude and faith that her remaining family will be okay. In the River House Office, we have been saddened by the news that Clorise shares with us and would like to try to do what we can to help.
If you are willing and able to, we are collecting donations for Clorise and her family--who may need money for food, shelter, and other basic necessities as they recover and rebuild from this horrible natural disaster. Any donation can make a difference in the lives of those affected in Jamaica, and we hope that this GoFundMe can provide some relief for her family who is struggling at this time.
If you aren't able to donate, please share this post, thank you!
