Support Clint’s Journey to a Double Lung Transplant

Anyone who knows Clint Bronson knows this is a hard ask.

2023 was the beginning of his journey that has led him to needing a double lung transplant. Diagnosed with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, Clint has spent the last 2 ½ years trying a multitude of medications and treatments. Unfortunately, there is no cure for PAH. The only option is transplant.

In January 2025, Clint became officially disabled and unable to work, needing a high amount of supplemental oxygen 24 hours a day. At that time, I became his full-time caregiver. By August last year, he was referred to the University of Washington. So began our relationship with UW. We met with the Head of Pulmonology, and it was decided to try a treatment requiring continuous IV infusion directly into his heart. An IV line was set inside his heart and runs to an external pump he carries with him at all times. This pump and medication must be changed every 48 hours.

With the high amount of supplemental oxygen he uses, in addition to having the pump, Clint has been housebound. Just getting over to UW for his appointments is exhausting. We pack 16 large O2 tanks with us to get over there, attend appointments, and get back home. There have been many trips to Seattle already, one being by Life Flight. He will have appointments every 2 months until the transplant.

On March 13, 2026, Clint was entered into the UNOS waiting list for a set of lungs. We are able to stay at home until a donor becomes available; however, there could be a need to secure a flight plan for travel to UW when we get the call. Clint cannot fly commercially, so other means will need to be arranged. The doctors anticipate a month stay in the hospital if there are no complications. After discharge, he needs to stay near the hospital for 3 months.

The cost of living in Seattle, medical bills, frequent travel to Seattle, and immunosuppressant medications for life is impossible to predict. The unexpected expenses and burdens will be unavoidable. We are raising funds to ease the financial stress as Clint prepares for the tough road ahead.

As a family, we will have a great need for an Air B&B or VRBO near UWMC Montlake, 1959 NE Pacific St., Seattle, WA.

Your gracious donation is greatly appreciated. More than you can possibly know. No one expects to be faced with such hurdles. No one expects to have to ask for help.

We are planning and preparing for a miracle, a second chance for Clint.

Thank you for supporting Clint and our family. Your support will help him get ready for the biggest challenge of his life.

Every one of you is a part of making this happen. Thank you!
