My name is Brittany. We had an emergency with one of our dogs tonight & had to take him to the local ER. Our dog, Clem, started not feeling well today (4/6/25). He threw up all his breakfast, was not interested in dinner at all, lethargic, vomiting, stretching like he’s uncomfortable, excessive drooling. Normally he is very food motivated, high energy, loves drinking water. With me being in vet med, I figured it was time to take him to the ER. I was nervous since Clem is the type of dog that does not like strangers at all, so he had to be sedated for them to examine properly, take radiographs, and get blood work. After everything, it was determined he had a foreign body in his small intestine & they were going to do surgery. Surgery, meds, radiographs, bloodwork, pre & post op care, etc was quoted for $5k, but of course there’s always the possibility of more. We are hoping to raise at least a little bit of the $5k, anything would help immensely. I currently only do pet sitting/walking, so unfortunately our funds are limited & we had to put it on my husbands credit card. If you can’t donate, just sharing this would be greatly appreciated.
edit: 2:15am, ER doctor called, surgery was difficult, but they got everything removed. they said clem’s heart did stop at one point & they had to do a few compressions to get him back but he is awake & recovering now. he’ll call in the morning with another update & when we can pick him up.
edit: 8:45am, clem is doing really well surprisingly, they have the muzzle back on & are able to keep him on IV fluids/meds so they’ll be keeping him during the day as long as possible with hopes of pick up this evening. due to CPR & extra meds given, we had to pay another $650 over the phone so our goal amount did go up.
