Help Us Fund Clementine and Oakley's Medical Bills After a Scary Lily Exposure
Hi everyone,
We’re reaching out with heavy hearts, asking for help during an incredibly difficult time for our little family.
Our two beloved cats, Clementine and Oakley, were recently exposed to lilies— something we had no idea was so dangerous to cats until now. We discovered a bunch of pollen on Clementine’s face, and after a frantic Google search, we learned that lilies are extremely toxic to cats— even the tiniest exposure can cause kidney failure within 72 hours.
We rushed both Clementine and Oakley to the emergency vet. While Oakley’s exposure was minimal and her treatment less intensive, Clementine’s condition was much more serious. As we write this, Clementine is still in the ER, undergoing aggressive treatment to protect her kidneys. The vets have been incredible— shoutout to the Veterinary Emergency Group on Penn— but the care involved (IV fluids, blood work, and continuous monitoring over the course of days) has quickly added up. Clementine’s bill alone is already at $4,000, and Oakley’s care has added another $500.
Clementine and Oakley are our world. Natalie has had Clementine for nearly a decade and quite literally owes her life to that little bundle of fur. And Oakley came along to make our family whole. They’re not just pets — they’re family, and seeing them in pain has been devastating and heartbreaking. While we’re so grateful that they’re both getting the care they need, the financial strain is overwhelming.
If you’re able to donate— even just a few dollars— it would mean everything to us. Every bit helps us make sure Clementine and Oakley can come home safe and healthy. If you’re not in a position to give, sharing this fundraiser would be an enormous help as well.
Thank you so much for your kindness, generosity, and support during this terrifying time. Clementine and Oakley are fighters, and with your help, we’re hopeful Clementine will be back home cuddling on the couch— and the two will be back to playfully fighting each other soon, right where they belong. ♥️
With gratitude,
Nat, Jacob, Clementine, and Oakley
