On May 2nd, 2024, our precious son Clayton Dixon 13 years old underwent an MRI of his left knee. In an unexpected turn of events, the scan revealed a grape-sized tumor, measuring 3cm x 3cm, nestled within his left Tibia. Our hearts trembled with concern, but we resolved to face this challenge head-on.

In pursuit of answers and a path towards healing, Clayton underwent a biopsy on May 14th at Stanford Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital. On May 19th, the results arrived, bringing both relief and resolve. While the condition being sought, such as cancer or an abnormality, was confirmed, so too was our unwavering determination to overcome it. We find solace in knowing that Clayton's treatment will take place at the renowned Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford in Palo Alto, where he will receive the best care possible.

The treatment journey that lies ahead may be arduous, but we approach it with unwavering optimism. Each treatment cycle will require 2-3 hospital stays, allowing Clayton to receive the specialized care and attention he deserves. In the intervals between these cycles, our courageous warrior will undergo a surgical procedure to remove the tumor from his bone. We are hopeful that this procedure, followed by 18 weeks of chemotherapy, will bring us closer to a future where Clayton can thrive once more.
