Help Clayton Moore and his Family on His Long Road to Recovery:
On August 27, 2025, sixteen-year-old Clayton Moore suffered second and third-degree burns over 21% of his body in a devastating gasoline explosion at the ranch. Thanks to his father’s quick actions, Clayton was saved from an even more tragic outcome, but his injuries are severe. There is nothing on this earth that could prepare an individual for a catastrophic experience such as this.
Clayton was airlifted from Prescott Valley, AZ to a burn center in Phoenix, where he has remained intubated in the ICU for over two weeks. The magnitude of his injuries and the realization of his recovery period are still revealing themselves. Clayton has already undergone four surgeries, with more possible in the months ahead, followed by extensive rehabilitation that could last a year or more.
Clayton’s family—parents Clay and Cassie and younger brother Colton—are a tight-knit ranching crew of four who handles every ranch task themselves from daily chores to working cattle. With the ranch four hours from the hospital, his father and brother must make exhausting drives back and forth daily to care for the cattle and ranch, while also supporting Clayton and his mom. Cassie has been staying at the hospital with Clayton, as the family feels it’s extremely important for Clayton to have a familiar face in the hospital room with him at all times.
Adding to their burden, insurance coverage has been denied for August and September, leaving the family to shoulder staggering medical expenses until new coverage begins October 1st.
Clayton is known as “Mr. Fix-It”—an outgoing, strong-willed cowboy whose talents range from hunting and fishing to leatherwork, braiding horse tack, welding, gardening, and more. He has always been the first to help others, and now he needs our help.
There is nothing that this young man cannot do if he sets his mind to it. He is gifted with so many talents. We know he will overcome any obstacle placed in front of him with grace of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Clayton’s favorite Bible verse:
Romans 8:28
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
