Help Our Bright Minds Reach Nationals and Fund Future Field trips!

Hi, we're the Barr family – Milo, Zeke, and Silas and our parents Liz and Tony, from the small, high-poverty community of Claysburg-Kimmel, nestled in the beautiful Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania. We are incredibly proud to announce that 21 talented students from the high school (including Milo, a sophomore) have qualified for the National Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Competition in Anaheim, California, this summer! This is a monumental achievement that speaks volumes about their dedication and the support they receive in our close-knit community.

In Claysburg, providing these kinds of opportunities for our kids takes a village. We've seen firsthand the extraordinary efforts of our parents and community members who work tirelessly to raise funds. Through countless yard sales, energetic car washes, exciting raffles and drawings, long hours at football concession stands, and delicious pizza, chocolate, and sub sales, they consistently strive to give our students enriching experiences. We also deeply appreciate the Claysburg Education Foundation's ongoing support. In fact, Silas and Zeke, now in college, benefited greatly from these very community fundraisers during their time in Claysburg-Kimmel schools and are eager to contribute to this effort as well.

The funds raised through this campaign will directly support crucial travel expenses to make their trip to the National Competition possible. Recognizing the importance of providing ongoing enriching experiences for all our students, any funds raised beyond what's needed for the FBLA National Competition will be used to support future field trips for Claysburg-Kimmel students, including a much-anticipated trip to Disney World for the chorus and band students next spring.

Because supporting 21 students for a national competition requires resources beyond our local fundraising capacity, and as our family's connections and potential sponsors are spread across the country rather than concentrated locally, we are reaching out to a wider community for support.

Every dollar raised will directly support these deserving students' journey to the National FBLA Competition and contribute to future educational opportunities for Claysburg-Kimmel students.
