Watch Clay's JPS Video on YouTube <--- This is why we love him so so much!
Clay isn’t just a bus driver, he’s a light to every child who steps onto his bus. For years, he’s greeted students with kindness, learned their names, and lifted their spirits each day. Clay treats every child as if they were his own, making sure each one feels safe and cared for on their way to and from school. In addition to running his regular routes each day, Clay is also a mechanic for JPS transportation and he has driven the high school band equipment for out of state functions in the Trojan Pride semi.
On November 10th, while driving his morning route, Clay was involved in an accident while transporting my son and other students to school. In that moment, Clay did what he always does, he put everyone else first. He checked on every child, made sure the elderly driver who caused the accident was safe, and refused to think of himself until he knew everyone else was okay and taken care of. Only then was Clay taken to the hospital, where he was treated for a serious back injury. He is now awaiting back surgery and is unable to work, with workman’s comp still pending approval.
In the meantime, Clay faces the same bills and responsibilities, but with a significantly reduced paycheck. He has spent years caring for our kids, now it’s our turn to care for him. Every donation, big or small, will help cover his living expenses while he recovers. Clay always shows up for our children. Let’s show up for him. ❤️
