Support Claudia's Journey Through Hodgkins Lymphoma

Donation protected
Hi everyone, :)

My name is Claudia! I’m 24 years old and I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, a blood cancer, recently. Not to worry at all though because this type of cancer is one of the most curable and I have a very good prognosis. To say i feel lucky would be an understatement; so so many families are going through other kinds of cancers without any opportunity for healing and so for my situation, I’m deeply, deeply grateful. With my opportunity for healing, though, comes with a need for me to take some time off work while I go through treatment. I will be receiving chemotherapy for the next six months and with that will come side effects that are going to make working more difficult and potentially off the table entirely for a bit of time. I’m going to work as much as my body will allow me too, while listening to it when it tells me I cannot. My biggest concern right now, (other than surviving LOL), is paying my rent. The most challenging aspect of having cancer right now is not the idea of being bald or sick from chemo, or really anything to do with the actual diagnosis itself but more so the idea that I’m going to need to ask for help from the people around me. I take a lot of pride in standing on my own and providing for myself so being put into a position where I cannot physically do simple things like work is the challenging part about having cancer. So that brings me here, where I’m asking for donations that will be allocated towards my rent and other living expenses over the next six months while I receive chemotherapy. I wish I could sit face to face with anyone reading this so you could hear me when I tell you how much I appreciate any monetary donation but bigger than that for the kind thoughts and words of encouragement that so many of you have sent my way. Every aspect of my life is more joyful, more kind, and more special because of the closeness this diagnosis has brought between me my friends/family, and God. Anything that does that, to me, is a gift; so when I say I’m grateful know that I truly mean it. When I’m finished with my treatment and get back on my feet I plan to spend the rest of my time here on earth giving back in whatever ways I can and hopefully that can begin to represent a “thank you” big enough to express my gratitude for anyone out there who supported me during this time.
