Support Clarissa Espinosa’s Fight Against Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Fifteen weeks ago, my niece Clarissa Espinosa (age 27) was excitedly preparing for her wedding, set for December 28th. But everything changed when, in early August, she began experiencing strange symptoms—swelling and tingling in her face. After a series of hospital visits, specialists, and tests, Clarissa was diagnosed with stage II Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on September 27th. This aggressive cancer affects the lymphatic system, weakening the body’s ability to fight infection. Three tumors were found: one in her neck, underarm, and one near her heart.
This devastating diagnosis came at a time when Clarissa was already navigating a major life transition. After earning her degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, she spent three years in banking, but in November 2023, she made the bold decision to follow her passion for education, becoming a full-time substitute teacher for Arlington ISD. Unfortunately, as she works toward her teaching certification, she does not have health insurance, which has made this already challenging journey even harder.
In addition to her health struggles, Clarissa has had to make difficult decisions about her future. As chemotherapy begins on December 2nd, she was advised that the treatments could rob her of the ability to conceive. With that, she recently incurred significant costs to freeze her embryos in hopes of one day having a family.
Amid all of this, her wedding has been postponed, and the emotional and financial burden on Clarissa and her family is overwhelming. However, Clarissa is not facing this battle alone—she is surrounded by a community of family and friends who love and support her. Right now, she needs that support more than ever.
We are reaching out to ask for your help. Whether through prayers, positive thoughts, or financial contributions, every little bit makes a difference. Your generosity will help Clarissa cover the costs of her medical treatments, medications, and the other expenses that come with this long and difficult journey.
Thank you for standing with Clarissa. Together, we can help her face this battle with strength, hope, and love. Your support means the world to Clari. God Bless!!
