My name is Davion Chantiloupe, and I am the Head Coach at Clarendon College. My life is dedicated to our youth—guiding, inspiring, and mentoring young men and women to become the best versions of themselves.
At the recent ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Championships, our hard work paid off in a historic way with pride as our athletes walked away with five gold medals and one bronze. It should have been a moment of pure celebration for our school and our community.
However, while I was inside the National Stadium heartening these kids to reach for greatness, someone was outside stealing my vehicle from the stadium premises.
It is a heartbreaking irony that a day of such massive achievement ended in such a devastating personal loss. As a law-abiding citizen and a man who pours everything into this nation's youth, a situation like this makes it incredibly hard to even enjoy the medals we won. This vehicle, valued at $2.7 million, was my primary tool for 'juggling' and earning the income needed to support my household.
The timing is critical. I am currently a father off two including a newborn baby, and the loss of my mobility has created an immediate crisis. With the season ended and my income reduced, the stress of providing for a newborn without a vehicle is a heavy burden. I have already followed up with the Minister regarding this, as this loss affects the very foundation of my family’s stability.
I am reaching out to you for a 'hand up' to help a genuine person get back on his feet. I am raising funds to secure a replacement vehicle so I can continue my mission at Clarendon College and, most importantly, provide for my baby.
If our victory at 'Champs' brought you pride, or if you believe in supporting a coach who gives his all for Jamaica’s youth, please consider donating or sharing this link. Your support means the world to a father trying to do right by his family.
With respect and gratitude,
Coach Davion Chantiloupe
