Support Clarence's Final Wish to Go Home

UPDATE:
On behalf of the Carter family, we want to thank all of you who contributed to our GoFundMe campaign to get my dad back to Mexico. Sadly, his rapid decline made travel plans impossible and he passed away peacefully yesterday morning, 8/19. Your generous contributions will now go towards final expenses. Please know we are so very grateful and appreciate your support.

As a decades long pilar of his community, working with troubled youth, Clarence has saved, transformed and enriched the lives of many. As a result of his hearts passion, he has acquired many lifelong friends, become and remained a father figure to many, and continues to foster the hope and love that so many need.

As retirees, he and my mother moved to San Miguel De Allende, MX in March of 2018, where they purchased and renovated their "forever" home. They've been blessed to become a part of a community of friends and supporters, that they love and who love them back.

In February 2024, my father, a 3x cancer survivor received a 4th cancer diagnosis, but this time stage 4 and metastatic.

He was swiftly put on treatments, but to no avail. In June of 2024, he was taken off of treatment, and was told he had roughly 2-3 months to live.

In this 6 months time, he has maintained such a positive attitude, expressing his faith and appreciation for life, enjoying time with family and making sure that every moment he has left, counts.

He maintained a peace and zeal for life until my brother passed away on July 28th. Despite my fathers own ailing health, we made a treck to Philadelphia (he from MX and myself from CA) to see about my brother in ICU, who was only visiting Philadelphia for work. We remained there for 10 days, where my father also ended up being admitted to the hospital for a few days, due to his failing health. Still, he kept going once released. After 20 days in the hospital, my brother passed. My father came back to CA to attend the service, an absolutely devastating blow.

Since attending the service, he has been on a steady decline, with his only wish being to get back home to MX to live out his last days at home.

Because of the risk of commercial travel in his current state, the only option to get him home safely, would be by private transport.

Private transport can be extremely costly, roughly $40k. This does not include medical personnel on board.

If you are able to donate, any amount is appreciated and even if you cannot, please share.

For a man that has touched so many lives and given so much of himself to others, I'd like to give him what he desires one last time ❤️.
