We are humbly reaching out for support in raising funds for my niece, Clare Princess Joy Miranda, who has been confined at The Medical City Ortigas, Pasig since February 28. She recently underwent her 6th brain surgery, which became extremely complicated. She has remained in the ICU for over a month.
Clare has been in and out of the operating room five times for multiple procedures, including VP shunt revisions and repositioning, tracheostomy placement, chest tube insertion (CTT), and lumbar drain placement. Despite everything, she continues to fight—and so do we.
We are really hoping for support, as her running hospital bill has now reached over ₱3 million pesos / $60,000. And even after she comes home, the expenses will continue because she is bedridden and dependent on both an NGT and a tracheostomy. She will require maintenance medications like anti-seizure drugs, along with medical equipment and supplies such as a suction machine, oxygen, and catheters. We remain strong in our faith that Clare will pull through again, just as she has courageously done throughout the last 10 years.
Clare was diagnosed at just couple weeks old with an aggressive brain tumor called Glioblastoma, which later evolved into Pleomorphic Xanthoastrocytoma (PXA), WHO Grade 3. She has undergone multiple craniotomies and VP shunt procedures due to recurring complications and episodes of body weakness.
