Support Clara's NICU Journey with Love

Jamie and Harold Emick have recently had a joyous event, the birth of a new baby girl! Clara Louise Emick was born on April 18th, at 31 weeks, weighing 2 lbs 11 oz. She is doing well for one born so early, but she will need to be in the hospital's NICU for 4-6 more weeks.

The commute to the hospital takes 3 hours, round trip. Visits to babies in NICU typically last 3 hours as well. Over these next several weeks, Jamie will need Harold's help and support while commuting to the hospital to visit the baby every day. This will prevent Harold from being able to work as much, which will significantly reduce their income. They will also be spending extra money on gas, parking, and eating out (and we all know that even fast food does not mean cheap food anymore).

Although Jamie and Harold would never ask for financial assistance, their friends and family know that the burden of extra expenses, along with a reduced income, is going to be adding stress to an already stressful situation. If you can give toward their needs during this time, they will be only too grateful.

This is a joyful time and a difficult time for Jamie, Harold, and their other 5 children. We know that God loves them all and created this new little one for a special purpose. We also know that He delights in our human interdependence and in showing His love through our hands and hearts. You should not feel obliged, by this post, to help them out financially if you do not feel called or are not able to do so. Prayers for their family are needed and are deeply appreciated.
