My sister Clara Malkerson, mother and sole financial provider of 10 beautiful children, needs our help.

Homesteading in Urbana, MO with her husband Dan and working remotely as a medical transcriptionist, Clara has lived life for God, family, and community. In August 2025, four months after the birth of her son Christian, Clara received a devastating diagnosis: thyroid cancer. Illness, difficult pregnancy, birthing complications, and continued health needs have impacted her ability to provide for her family. Medical treatment, everyday bills, care for two children with special medical needs, and caring for her family of 12 are more than she can bear alone. To top it all off, the family’s only vehicle broke down on the way to her first surgery appointment, costing almost $2,000 to repair. Money they certainly don’t have. The Malkerson family is in a state of emergency and crisis.

This is where community matters most — when the system fails, we become a community system to carry a beloved mother, sister, daughter, and friend through the hardest moments of her life.
