My name is Claire and I am a non-binary person looking for help funding my upcoming top surgery!

What a scary thing to announce. What will people think of me? The truth is: I have been binding my chest for the past 5 years. Ever since college, I thought a flatter chest was what made me who I was. Sports bras turned to binders. As I gained a healthy weight, I realized the worst part: my chest had grown.

One day, I finally woke up and said, "Mom? Do you think I'll wear binders for the rest of my life?"

I've been pondering the decision for so long now. I can't wear binders my whole life. And I can't put into words how foreign a woman's chest feels on my body.

My family, my friends, my girlfriend, they all have been on board and I can't thank them enough for their support in this next step in becoming me.
