Support Claire’s Recovery and Help Her Family Through This Crisis
On August 5th, 11-year-old spunky, sweet, and loving Claire Millington was hit by a car while riding her scooter. She was taken by ambulance to Aultman and then life-flighted to Akron Children’s Hospital, where she remains in the PICU.
Claire suffered multiple injuries, including a small brain bleed, a fractured collarbone, multiple leg fractures to the tibia & fibula which require surgery, and a small lung collapse (pneumothorax), as well as other injuries to the hip & knee. After being intubated and sedated overnight, she was able to breathe well enough to have the breathing tube removed this morning — a major step forward and answer to prayer. As of this moment, she is in surgery with orthopedic specialists to begin repairing her leg.
Claire’s mom, Ashley, hasn’t left her side. She recently lost her job, and with everything happening so suddenly, we’re hoping to rally support to help her stay fully present with Claire in the long days and weeks ahead - without the added burden of financial stress.
Funds raised will help cover meals, bills, transportation, and other unexpected costs that come with being in the hospital and caring for a child through a long recovery.
If you’re able to give, we’re deeply grateful. If you’re not, please keep Claire and her family in your prayers and continue sending love and strength their way.
Thank you in advance for supporting Claire, Ashley & the rest of the family through this time!
