We are setting up this page to support our friend Claire currently undergoing treatment for secondary (advanced/ metastatic) Triple Negative Breast Cancer (mTNBC). After bravely battling Primary TNBC in 2022, Claire received the devastating news in May that the cancer has returned.

Triple Negative Breast Cancer is a particularly aggressive form of breast cancer that does not respond to hormone therapies, making it harder to treat. Metastatic TNBC is even more challenging, with fewer treatment options and poorer outcomes.

Treatment options offered to Claire were limited in Swansea, so after an enormous amount of research, getting second, third and forth opinions, flying to meet with specialists all over Europe including Frankfurt and Madrid, she has taken the decision to move her cancer treatment to London under a trial. This means weekly travel and overnight stays in London.

This is a long road for Claire as whilst her cancer is not curable it is treatable. She will be on treatment of chemotherapy and potentially trials indefinitely.

Claire is a Mum of two young boys age 10 and 7, wife to Ian, daughter, sister and friend. This has had a devastating effect on them all, especially as Claire had already lost her father to cancer when she was 10 years old. She remains incredibly positive for the sake of her young family and driven to find the best treatment plan. From her research she has already found the world leading specialist in TNBC and is now under his care.

Many friends, family, and community members have asked how they can help. This page has been created as a positivity pathway and a hub for FUN-raising and support activities. Funds raised will help cover private medical appointments, tests, wellbeing therapies, and other supportive services to ease treatment side effects, assist with detoxification, and improve quality of life. This support will help Claire maintain strength, resilience and quality of life.
