Support CJ's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Community, family, and friends,
I am asking for your help to support the medical and recovery costs for CJ Vega, a high school student in Little Elm and active member of the local Troop 45 scout group.
CJ had a bad accident while attempting a weight lifting personal record. He broke both legs above the knee (fractured femurs) and tore many surrounding muscles and one ACL. It is unknown at the moment if/how much surgery is needed, but recovery will be long and expensive.
The funds will go directly to his mom, Irma Vega, who is a teacher in the Little Elm school district. This GoFundMe is set up with her permission (and reluctance). As a single income family on a teacher's salary and health insurance, I imagine you know how difficult this will be to overcome financially. Money will help offset medial bills and fees, recovery equipment, transportation, food, etc.
CJ is a wonderful young man. I have had the privilege to see him develop over the past several years in the local Little Elm Scout Troop 45. Just two days prior to the accident, he completed an 85+ mile backpacking trek at Philmont Scout Ranch, where he served as the crew's chaplain. If you know CJ, you know he is very active, athletic, and kind-hearted, and will be working hard to recover as soon as possible.
Even the smallest contribution can make a big difference for the Vega family. We kindly request your support, whether it's a financial contribution, prayers, or simply sharing this campaign with others. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
