My name is CJ. You know, over the years of trying to survive, trying to walk, and trying to do what I can for my kids is the hardest thing I've ever done. I've had 4 surgeries on this ankle in the last 5 years. To just struggle to even get out of bed or play with my kids outside, I hated life and everything that was in it. I just want to be able to look my kids in the face and say I hope I make you proud. I strive to be what they need, and I try to make sure they don't have worries like I did as a kid. I had to get a below-knee amputation because my ankle was at a 45-degree angle and two bolts from two surgeries wouldn't hold. I am praying I can get some help to get a good prosthetic. I want to see my kids' little faces light up when dad goes outside and plays in the dirt or takes them on walks. Truly, me being miserable and seeing me making the kids miserable kills me inside. One day, please God, show me the strength to keep fighting the battle and pray I can be a better man for my kids.
