CJ Franklin stepped into my life a little over 15 years ago, and from that moment on, he has been a beacon of love, strength, and unwavering support in our family. I'll never forget the sheer joy I felt the day he married my sister Shannon. He was everything we had hoped for in a partner for her and more. His love for her is evident in every smile, every glance, and every moment they share together.

About four years ago, he was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), a diagnosis that has brought with it countless challenges and obstacles to overcome. Since then, he has been undergoing dialysis three days a week for four hours each session, all while facing multiple surgeries and medical procedures.

 

Now, CJ faces perhaps his toughest battle yet. In May, he is scheduled to undergo surgery to remove his right kidney, a procedure that comes with its own set of risks and uncertainties. Despite the hardships he has endured, CJ remains resilient, hopeful, and determined to overcome this obstacle and emerge stronger than ever before.

 

But he can't do it alone. CJ is currently on the transplant list, awaiting the gift of a new kidney that will not only improve his quality of life but also allow him to continue being the loving husband, devoted father, and cherished friend that we all know and love.
