City Heights Prep is a small charter school serving 160 students in grades 6 through 12, most from low-income families. For many of our students, college feels out of reach simply because they have never had the opportunity to visit a campus. Each year, we aim to provide our students with this opportunity by organizing a multi-day college trip where students can visit a variety of colleges. We were unable to do so last year due to a lack of funding, and without additional support, this opportunity may be lost again.
In April 2026, we hope to take 28 juniors and 9 seniors on this college trip. 21 of our juniors are A-G eligible and preparing to apply to 4-year universities. Our seniors have already applied to 4-year universities and missed the chance to visit campuses last year. This trip would allow them to visit schools they have researched, applied to, and make informed decisions about their future.
At this time, our school budget only covers bus transportation. We are raising funds to cover hotel stays, meals, and student experiences so families do not have to worry about the cost. Our goal is to ensure that every student can attend, regardless of financial circumstances.
For many students, this will be their first time stepping onto a college campus. We also hope to explore San Francisco and provide each student with at least 1 college shirt or sweater as a reminder that they belong in these spaces. Every donation helps make this trip possible. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser makes a meaningful difference.
