This Giving Tuesday, we’re thinking of the community cats who depend on the kindness of the neighborhoods they call home. And this year we have a generous anonymous donor who will match up to $5,000 for Giving Tuesday! Please also check to see if your company matches charitable donations.
Every day, outdoor cats rely on volunteers who show up—rain, shine, and snow—to offer food, build warm shelters, and make sure they’re not facing the harshest months alone.
City Critters currently supports 11 feeding sites from Chinatown to Stuyvesant Town, plus two additional sites outside Manhattan. Some locations care for a single cat; others, up to 25.
Together, that means we provide roughly:
- 103 cans of wet food each week
- 28 lbs of dry food each week
- $1,000–$1,300 in monthly food costs
And that’s before factoring in winter shelters ($25 each) and essential veterinary care to spay/neuter newcomers and treat sick or injured regulars.
We are incredibly grateful for donations from local pet shops and community members—but these sources aren’t always predictable. With snow in the forecast this week, your generosity makes all the difference for our most vulnerable cats.
Please consider supporting City Critters today—especially our outdoor friends who need us most.
Thank you,
City Critters
