Our beloved Viola, also known as Cissy, recently endured a life-changing event. On August 12, 2024, she was involved in a car accident that led to a series of unforeseen and heartbreaking discoveries. The following day she went to Medstar St. Mary’s Hospital, for just a head injury and stitches. They ordered an MRI and CT scans to be done and revealed a cancerous brain tumor and lung cancer. Cissy was airlifted to Georgetown University Hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery to remove the brain tumor.

Now, Cissy faces a challenging battle as she prepares to begin chemotherapy next week to fight the cancer. This is going to be a long and tough journey, both physically and emotionally. On top of this, the financial burden of medical bills and lost wages adds an additional layer of stress.
