Help Bring Bilingual Circus Storytelling to Children

Supporting a live, bilingual circus-theater experience that reconnects children to storytelling, culture, and imagination.

Hi, I’m Carolina, also known as Coicoi, a Colombian clown, circus artist, and educator based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I created a bilingual (Spanish-English) circus-theater show called “The True Color of Love / El Verdadero Color del Amor.” This interactive performance brings together clown, movement, juggling, and live storytelling inspired by Caribbean cultural traditions.

Through a playful journey, children meet characters like the Sun, the Moon, and Water—each inviting them to move, imagine, and reconnect with the natural world and their emotions.

In a time when many children are increasingly disconnected through screens, this show offers something different: a live, human, joyful experience that invites participation, creativity, and presence.

This project is deeply rooted in my background as a Colombian artist and social circus educator. It honors the tradition of oral storytelling and the rich musical and cultural heritage of the Caribbean coast, while making it accessible to diverse communities here in the U.S.
