In early June, Cinnamon began experiencing bruising and gum bleeding. On June 12th, shortly after returning from a friend’s wedding in Portland, she developed forgetfulness and memory loss. She was rushed to the ER and was found to have low platelets, which had caused a spontaneous brain bleed. This required a drain placed in the brain to relieve pressure and was ultimately diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL) - a rare form of blood cancer. After 10 days in the ICU, Cinn is now stable in the oncology unit at Mount Sinai. She is being managed by Neurosurgery, Oncology, and Hematology, receiving chemotherapy and improving every day.

Cinn has a battle in front of her. She has demonstrated nothing but fight since this diagnosis – her tenacity and spirit are on full display, as evident in the leaps she has made in her recovery.

The goal of this fundraiser is to help relieve some of the financial burden she’ll be faced with, which could include expenses from prolonged hospital stay, outpatient medical care, medications, missed income, rent, food, and unexpected costs.
