Support Cinnamon's Urgent Medical Needs

(READ LAST PARAGRAPH FOR UPDATE)

My cat Cinnamon first entered our lives in 2021. I saw a Craigslist ad of someone giving away a Bengal cat nearby and wanted a friend for my first cat Kiko. I contacted the person and found out it was a young college couple eager to give up their cat without running a background check on who’d they give her to or even asking for money. They were leaving the country and needed to rehome her asap. I felt suspicious but went through with it and met up with them the next day. They didn’t say bye to her or really showed they were going to miss her.

I slowly acclimated her to my home with her now sister Kiko (a chonky tabby). It took a few months of me making her feel safe and welcomed in my home. Her sister was very curious of her and wanted to meet her quickly but I wanted to be extra cautious. They always sleep next to each other every night and during midday naps. Everytime I prepare wet food they come out running to the kitchen together. I have adopted another cat that Cinnamon has even opened her heart to named MiuMiu. Her little sister follows her every where and accepts her big sister grooming sessions.

On 5/11 Cinnamon came out to me choking and struggling to breathe. I ran to put her in the carrier and rushed to the 24/7 animal ER. They told me if I wasn’t home she could’ve died at home. I am so thankful she is still with us. She is still struggling to breathe and has been in an oxygen box for the last few days. They took XRays and found out she has a lot of fluid in her lungs, a result of a heart failure (Dr said most likely a congenital leaky heart valve). Since she is going through heart failure she is needing to go on a bunch of medications and frequent tests to make sure the fluid can drain and to get her blood pressure and temperature back to a regular rate. I was told her won’t have a full life for sure and will need lifelong medication but I am willing to do whatever it takes to keep her in our lives and give her a happy time while she is with us.

I’m asking for donations because with each night she stays and tests they need to run, the bill is going up very quickly. Originally I was told on the high end it would be $3500 and now I’m being told it’ll be a high $7200. I am struggling to pay bills while this all happening so unexpectedly. I have been so overwhelmed and stressed the last few sleepless nights I have been worried about when my Cinnamon will come home and get better.

thank you for reading this, please send prayers and love to Cinnamon ❤️

UPDATE 5/15: She has been diagnosed with End-stage hypertrophic cardiomyopathy so unfortunately we don’t know how much longer she’ll have to live but she will need to be on multiple medications for the rest of her life and continuous visits to the cardiologist. Once she can breathe better we can take her home to reunite with her family.

UPDATE 5/14: They raised the estimate to $7200 it’s so ridiculous but I know she is so lucky to be alive. the cardiologist saw her and basically said her heart is in really bad shape. The left atrium is being filled with too much fluid. Valves are not working and the fluid is going too much to her lungs. The meds are very harsh on her kidneys and could cause really bad issues. Her diagnosis is End-stage hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. She basically said she won’t have too much time to live and they can send me home with medication to give her a good rest of her life… I’m extremely devastated
