Friends and family, we are heartbroken to share that Ellen died on March 7th after an aggressive cancer diagnosis. Her passing was peaceful and we were all with her in the moment, surrounding her with our love and gratitude.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, we have started this GoFundMe for the Cinnabar School where Ellen spent her last few years teaching 6th and 3rd grades. Cinnabar was deeply important to her, and she loved her time with her students and colleagues that made up this small and vibrant public school in Petaluma.

She did everything she could to positively impact the lives of her young students and was always looking for ways to support the administration and staff, advocating for access to excellence in education at every juncture. We know that any contribution we can make to Cinnabar would bring her meaningful joy.
