Support Cindy Riggsbee's Shoe Repair After Flood

Donation protected
Not only did my grandmother Cinderella “Cindy” Riggsbee (82) lose her glass slipper, she lost her small business during the flooding that happened at Eastgate Crossing on July 6. Many people may know or heard of it, “The Shoe Repair.”

The Shoe Repair was one of multiple shoe repair shops to open in the Chapel Hill, NC university area. Cindy took over the shop sometime in the early-mid 90s. Not only did she have customers from all over the Chapel Hill-RDU area, but out of the state as well. She has repaired shoes for the well known. For Woody Durham, Carl Fox, Henry Gates, Phil Ford, James Sperling, Sylvia Hatchell and the list goes on.

As her kids, grandkids, and great grands grew up, our first job was at The Shoe Repair so that we could learn the skills of running a cash register and what it takes to repair shoes. Till this day we’re able to come in and help take the load off sometime. She would NEVER turn down a customer! She would always try her best with everything that was brought to her from shoes, purses, backpacks, belts, the list goes on! Cindy Riggsbee is well known in the Chapel Hill/ RDU area, not only for repairing shoes but for being the kind, loving, helpful woman that she is.

Owning the Shoe Repair and repairing shoes brings Cindy so much enjoyment. She has befriended so many. She might not remember their names but she knows they are her customers. Cindy does to shoes what our Saviour, Jesus Christ does to us. We are torn, low to the ground, and feel like we have no more use but, through prayer and faith, Jesus repairs us. He Gives us new strength and stability to carry on. Cindy knows this. She told a customer to come back in a few weeks. She will be open. Cindy has her faith in Jesus.

Unfortunately, her insurance will not be able to cover all of the repairs that are needed to rebuild the shop and get it back up and running. Her family has gathered together to make a go fund me account to help raise money, to help her with repairing the shop. We just want to thank everyone in advance with any donation that she may receive, we greatly appreciate it and it will mean so much!
