Hi, my name is Katie Barclay and this Go Fund me is for my step mom Cindy Newman.

Cindy is a mother, grandmother(7), sister and wife.

A beautiful 2 week vacation in Hawaii was cut short when cindy got sick. Apon arriving home she was gievn medical attention from her primary doctor whom on 2 occasions told her she was having acid reflux and hesitated to order an ultrasound. Let just say as things progresses she was taken to Penn State Lancaster where she was admitted for gall bladder infection and inflammation. Gallbladder surgery was performed next day with complications due to the severe infection and adherence to her liver.

Cindy was released home where she continued to go down hill showing signs of liver failure. She was then taken back to the hospital where 2 additional ERCPs were performed with difficulties trying to place a stent. As she was in the bathroom following the procedures she passed out and fell in the bathroom striking her head and stomach. She started to have GI bleeding that became very concerning.

Surgery #3 came Friday but more complications arose. Runs of atrial fibulation, tachycardia and loss of consciousness. After multiple blood transfusions she was stabilize to go in for surgery. This is where things got worse.

After a CT scan due to GI bleeding there was an injury noticed to her Hepatic artery which is a major artery to the liver. She was immediately air lifted to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for higher critical care.

When she arrived at Hershey she was taken into emergency surgery. She was given mass transfusion of blood to save her life. 2am came around and Surgeon C. Vining came to see us in the surgical waiting room... she made it through the surgery to repair the arterial bleed.

She was kept intubated and sedated after surgery as she has an open abdomen. They are mentioning bleeding. They are planning for surgery #5 for Tuesday to repair the bile duct injury and hopefully close her abdomen and monitor for any liver failure.

She will have one hell of a recovery a head of her. She is a strong women of God and only he knows the plan he has for her.

Cindy is full time employed at Kinseys Archery in Mount Joy where she's been for 15+ years. Cindy has disability but we feel she will exhaust that time frame.

Her Husband (my dad) Kurry Newman is also a full time mechanic at a busy truck shop in lancaster. Also retired EMT for 20+ years. He had been by her side every step of the way. With kurry being off work comes loss of wages.

Lord know what is to come there way with medical bills and loss of wages that are to come.

My hope is to raise some funds to help off set some of these hick ups that are coming.
