My sister and our beloved Cindy Treweek, 43 years young, has recently been diagnosed with stage 3 adenocarcinoma (bowel cancer), and our family is rallying around her during this incredibly challenging time.
Cindy is more than just a sister — she is a devoted Aunty, and a mother figure to her nieces and nephew. She is a deeply loved daughter, sister, and aunty within our family. She brings her own unique energy, humour, and presence that lights up a room. She is warm, full of life, and someone who is truly cherished by those closest to her.
For over 12 years, Cindy has dedicated her life to shaping young minds as a teacher at Darlington Public School. Her passion for education and care for young people, especially within her community, has made a lasting impact on so many lives. As a proud Gamilaroi/Gomeroi and Murrawari woman, she carries culture, strength, and resilience in everything she does.
Anyone who knows Cindy knows she is the life of the party — always bringing laughter, energy, and love wherever she goes. She’s also a die-hard South Sydney Rabbitohs supporter, never missing a chance to cheer on her team.
Now, Cindy needs our support.
Cindy is currently preparing for surgery and about to begin her long treatment journey. During this time, she will be unable to work, and the financial pressure that comes with ongoing treatment, recovery, and day-to-day living will be significant, while also navigating the physical and emotional toll that comes with cancer.
We have created this GoFundMe to help ease the pressure of everyday living expenses during this period, so Cindy can focus fully on what matters most — her health, healing, and recovery without added stress.
Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward supporting Cindy through her treatment and recovery. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page would mean the world to us.
"I also want to gently remind everyone to please listen to your body and not ignore the signs. If something doesn’t feel right, please go and get checked. Early detection can make such a difference, and I’m grateful mine was found when it was. Thank you for all the love, support, and kindness during this time — it truly means more than words can express." Cindy.
Let’s come together to support someone who has given so much to others.
Thank you for your love, support, and generosity.
