Support Cindy Hockley's Fight Against Cancer

My name is Barbara Hockley-Alspaugh and I am raising funds for my Aunt, Cindy Hockley. She has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer that has metastasized to her liver, resulting in a large liver cancer as well as into her pelvic bone. She has been unwell for the last year with chronic pain, and it has taken way to long to figure out the cause.

My Aunt is a very special person. She has always been there for me and my daughters. She recently found her life's passion later in her life, by helping to teach autistic children. She can be crazy and funny and wild and she can be soft and empathetic and see all sides of any situation. She has fought for me during my toughest times in my life and now it is time for me to do the same for her.

My Aunt is going into a huge fight for her life. Her Partner, Cathy is by her side and doing everything she can do to keep things afloat but she can't do it alone and my Aunt will need funds for the medical bills she has accumulated so far, which includes multiple CAT Scans, MRI and Bloodwork. She will need financial support for the chemo and radiation treatments. At this point, we are not yet sure of medical coverage. She will need living expenses; food, mortgage and potentially other assistance at home. Due to her ongoing battles prior to diagnosis, she has already lost wages. She will not be able to work during her treatment. We will have a better idea of the treatment plan when we meet with the oncologist this week. I do plan on providing short medical and financial updates throughout the fundraiser.

My first goal for her is $25,000. It's really hard to say how much she will need to support her during treatment. We need to start somewhere. It's always hard to ask others for help. Especially, hard to ask strangers and co-workers and acquaintances. We just all love her so much and want to do whatever we can to help her. So I ask for all of your help. Anything you can spare, even a dollar, will be appreciated. If you can't spare any funds than I ask that you share this to as many people as possible.

Most of all, whatever your spiritual faith, please send prayers. Money helps but having a whole team of people praying for you or sending positive energy goes a long way too. Thank you for your time and consideration in reading this.
