Hello, I’m Lesley Villeneuve. My mom Cindy and sister Loren were severely affected by flooding due to Hurricane Milton in Vero Beach.

The last few days have been such a dreadful mess, and not just for us, but for SO many in our community. My mom is so independent and never asks for ANYTHING. She is giving and loves to help people. Both she and my sister are the same way. My mom has been giving back to this community her entire life, having been born and raised here. She’s a registered nurse here in town and has been since ‘97. My sister also works in healthcare, doing communication at quite a few facilities here in town.

Before Milton, my mom had to have surgery on her foot to repair three tendons that were partially torn. She has been out of work since Monday, August 5th. Two full months without income and supporting a whole household is so hard, and her money is depleted. Now she has to replace furniture, beds, food, and so many personal belongings that were ruined in the water. They are being displaced for God only knows how long due to their house being gutted. We are unaware if they will be able to move back in yet or not. We’ve worked tirelessly the last two days to empty and salvage what we could for them. Any little thing will help and be tremendously appreciated.

We are praying for everyone who was affected by this storm. It was truly heartbreaking for so many.
